SpanBoard is an experimental take on time tracking, but instead of counting hours, it documents the story of the day. Every span has a start and end, so you can map out exactly when you woke up, how long it took to get ready, breakfast, commute, deep work, anything.

Spans can nest into sub-entries, so a “Gym” block can hold warm-up, sets, sauna, shower, and the ride home. Each span can also carry metadata like mood, links, or numeric counters, plus a rich note field with full markdown support. Over time, the calendar and journal views make it easy to review patterns, and analytics help you spot where your days really go.
